In 2022 I went to Snap Studios in London, to record this album in a day. It’s a collection of pieces I have collected over the years for Solo Piano, Piano & Cello & Recorder. All are instruments I continue to be drawn to writing for. The album was released in 2023 by Signum classics, with the opening track ‘Comes Back Again’ being featured on Spotify’s ‘Classical New Releases’ playlist.
I performed the album with Rebecca Burden on Cello, at St Giles church, in Camberwell in October last year.
I am pleased to say I will be performing more pieces from this album in support of Melissa Parameter in Norwich, on the 30th of April.
Poets In The Sky
My first EP was in collaboration with ‘Palisander’, who specialise in imaginative, historical music for Recorders. I was inspired by their repertoire and wanted to create recordings that welcomed their unique and distinctive sound.
As a result, each track on ‘Poets In The Sky’ has an etherial and mystical quality, which I believe the recorder helped to conjure up, being an instrument which stretches far back into our past.
Joining the tracks is percussionist Lewis Blee , myself on Ukulele and Harry Escott on cello.
